What Is Aurory?
Aurory is a next-generation studio building a universe of interoperable web3 games. Two original IP’s were born from this universe, which are actively shaping the future of the Aurory player experience.
The first of these two IP’s are Aurorians. A collection of 10,000 anime style NFT characters that double as both a PFP, as well as a playable avatar with various in-game perks.
The second are Nefties. These magical creatures have been designed as non-fungible tokens NFTs with a unique set of stats that influence their performance in-game. They serve as companions on each player’s journey, and can be hatched, traded, collected, and used in battles.
Aurory currently hosts two playable games (both in alpha) which continue to evolve in a live-ops development format:
Seekers of Tokane: A JRPG, where players embark on a dangerous rogue-like adventure through the world of Tokane, collecting and battling fierce Nefties in epic turn-based combat.
Aurory Tactics: A PvP timeline-based battling game where players must learn how to best use their Neftie creature's abilities, competing against opponents to rise to the top of the leaderboard for rewards and glory.
The project proudly boasts one of the most experienced executive and development suites in blockchain gaming, with dozens of talents from established gaming studios, such as Ubisoft, Electronic Arts, Rovio, Warner Bros, and more.
Who Are the Founders of Aurory?
Aurory was co-founded in 2021 by Yann Penno, the project’s Creative Art Director, and Sym (Paul), the project’s Business & Operations Lead. Penno brings long-standing experience in the gaming industry with 14 years of work as a 2D/3D animator and art/creative director for indie games. His colorful visual style and cute characters are exemplary for the design of Aurory and are somewhat reminiscent of Dragonball-Z. Sym has been a full-time investor in cryptocurrencies since 2019.
What Makes Aurory Unique?
No investments or purchases are required to play Aurory games. This eliminates a common entry barrier in gaming, aiding in the path to widespread adoption.
Thanks to an innovative, in-house tech called SyncSpace, players can try Aurory games without the need for a digital wallet. They can connect a Twitter, Discord, Facebook, or Google account to the Aurory platform and immediately start playing and earning rewards. On top of a seamless onboarding experience, this tech has also allowed the team to integrate cross-chain interoperability of Aurory assets.
The Aurory studio is made up of nearly 70 team members with varying backgrounds across the blockchain and gaming industries. The team claims to collectively have over 400 years of experience working on AAA game titles.
What Is $AURY?
$AURY is the native utility token that is at the heart of the Aurory economy and fuels all operations. It has a fixed supply of 100 million tokens and can be earned by playing Aurory games. The initial token circulation was 9.5% of total $AURY supply, with 7% coming from public sale (IDO), and another 2.5% that went to exchanges as liquidity.
Additional $AURY Use Cases:
- Buying and selling of assets in the Aurory Marketplace.
- Required as a fee for hatching eggs to obtain Nefties.
- Will be the currency used for Aurory land sales.
- Used for sending Aurorians on Expeditions.
- In the future, $AURY holders will have a voice in game-development decisions.
Which Blockchain Is Aurory Built On?
The Solana and Arbitrum blockchains power Aurory. The team selected Solana as their ‘’homebase’’ for its transaction speed and minuscule transaction fees, as well as its minimal environmental impact compared to other blockchains.
Solana is a layer-one blockchain with a proof-of-stake consensus mechanism and partial Byzantine fault tolerance. It performs a set of coordinated optimizations to achieve such impressive performance and processes transactions in a multi-threaded way, which sets it apart from slower blockchains.
The team integrated with the Ethereum L2 blockchain, Arbitrum in July of 2023. The integration was driven by the appeal of Arbitrum's vibrant EVM gaming ecosystem, while being able to maintain speed and low gas fees.

What blockchain does Aurory use? Is it its own blockchain or built on top of another?
Aurory is built on the Solana blockchain. It is not its own blockchain but rather utilizes Solana's infrastructure to benefit from its high throughput and low transaction costs. Aurory is a play-to-earn game that combines elements of gaming with blockchain technology, allowing players to engage in in-game economies and NFTs on the Solana network.
Is Aurory programmable? Does it support smart contracts or decentralized applications?
Aurory is a play-to-earn game built on the Solana blockchain, and while it incorporates elements of blockchain technology, it is primarily focused on gaming rather than serving as a general-purpose platform for programmable smart contracts or decentralized applications (dApps).
The Solana blockchain itself does support smart contracts, which means developers can create their dApps on it. However, Aurory, as a specific gaming platform, does not provide the same broad programmable features as other platforms like Ethereum. Instead, it offers a gamified experience with its own ecosystem that may integrate certain decentralized finance (DeFi) components, such as in-game economies or token usage, but it is not primarily a platform for building dApps.
If you're interested in building smart contracts or dApps, you would typically look into using platforms that are specifically designed for that purpose, like Ethereum or Solana directly.
How fast are Aurory transactions? What is the typical confirmation time and throughput (transactions per second)?
Aurory is built on the Solana blockchain, known for its high transaction speeds and throughput. Solana typically achieves transaction speeds of around 65,000 transactions per second (TPS) under optimal conditions.
The confirmation time for transactions on Solana, including those made on Aurory, is usually around 400 milliseconds, although this can vary depending on network conditions and congestion.
Keep in mind that specific metrics for Aurory's transactions may evolve as the platform and underlying technology develop, so it's always good to check the latest resources or the official Aurory documentation for the most current information.
How much data can I store on the Aurory blockchain? Does it support on-chain data storage?
As of my last update, Aurory is a game ecosystem built on the Solana blockchain, which is known for its high speed and low transaction costs. In general, blockchains like Solana do allow for on-chain data storage, but there are limitations to the amount of data you can store directly due to costs and efficiency.
Typically, storing large amounts of data directly on-chain can be expensive. While specific limits can vary based on factors such as transaction fees and block size, it’s common for on-chain data storage to be limited to essential data that needs to be immutable and accessible to all participants.
If you need to store larger amounts of data, it is often recommended to use off-chain storage solutions (like IPFS or centralized databases) and store only the necessary references or hashes on-chain. This helps keep transactions more economical and keeps the blockchain efficient.
For the most accurate and up-to-date information on data storage capabilities and practices specific to Aurory, I recommend checking the official Aurory documentation or community resources related to their blockchain implementation.
