Energi NRG
About
What Is Energi (NRG)?
Energi (NRG) is a next generation Proof of Stake (PoS) cryptocurrency. Powered by the Energi blockchain, NRG combines Ethereum smart contract compatibility with a self-funding treasury, decentralized masternode governance, and a Layer 1 and Layer 2 protocol. NRG also serves in place of a governance token for the Energiswap decentralized exchange.
Funded by the NRG treasury, the Energi organization is a blockchain-based financial technology provider. Energi was founded on the goal of delivering secure, decentralized financial solutions. Energi currently employs a team of over 60 contributors spread across 5 continents.
NRG Features
Ethereum-Compatible blockchain with smart contract capabilities to support DApp development.
Funding provided by an economically-optimized, self-funding treasury to enable the upkeep and rapid expansion of the project.
On-Chain Governance driven by a masternode network to guide strategy and provide user protections.
Speed and Scalability delivered by a Layer 1 and Layer 2 network that enables sustainable throughput.
The NRG Economic Model
1 million NRG are released every month and divided between the Energi Treasury, Masternodes, Stakers, and Backbone.
The breakdown of the allocations can be viewed below:
40% to the Energi Treasury
40% to Energi Masternodes
10% to Energi Stakers
10% to the Energi Backbone
TREASURY
Energi’s treasury is self-funded. Funds from the treasury pay for product development, marketing, merchant adoption, and team growth.
MASTERNODES
The primary role of masternodes is to provide stability for the network by validating transactions. Their secondary role is to provide governance by submitting and voting on proposals that dictate the long-term strategy and resource allocation for Energi. Masternode owners are awarded a larger portion of staking rewards as an incentive.
STAKING
Staking enables users to ‘stake’ their NRG on the network; that is, to validate the transactions required to make a new block. Staking creates a simple, easy way for users to take advantage of the Proof of Stake mechanism and get rewarded for doing so.
BACKBONE
Instead of issuing a pre-mine or holding an ICO, Energi’s founder chose to take distributed compensation over time. This ties his financial rewards from the project to Energi’s long-term success and sustainability.
Where Can You Buy NRG?

Who Is the Founder of Energi?
Energi was founded in 2018 by @TommyWorldPower (Twitter) with the goal of being the first cryptocurrency to drive truly global adoption. Tommy has been involved in cryptocurrency since 2012, starting out as an early-adopter and trader.
Through his research as a trader, he identified several key issues that were not being addressed by cryptocurrencies at the time. He created Energi to directly address those issues and provide a sustainable, scalable platform for the future of cryptocurrency.

AI Analysis
What is the Energi (NRG) cryptocurrency good for? What are its main use cases?
Energi (NRG) is a cryptocurrency that aims to combine various aspects of blockchain technology to create a self-funded and self-governing ecosystem. Here are some of its main use cases:
Smart Contracts: Energi supports smart contracts, which can be used to automate processes and create decentralized applications (dApps). This feature enables developers to build a variety of applications on the Energi blockchain.
Decentralized Governance: Energi employs a decentralized governance model where NRG holders can participate in decision-making processes. This governance model allows the community to propose and vote on changes to the network, making it adaptable and community-driven.
Staking: Users can participate in staking by holding NRG in their wallets. In exchange for staking, they can earn rewards, which incentivizes users to contribute to the network's security and stability.
Self-Funding Treasury: Energi has an innovative self-funded treasury model that allocates a portion of block rewards to support development, marketing, and community initiatives. This funding mechanism aims to foster growth and sustainability for the project.
Privacy Features: Energi incorporates privacy features, allowing users to conduct transactions with enhanced confidentiality. This utility can attract users who prioritize privacy in their digital transactions.
Payments: Like many cryptocurrencies, NRG can be used as a medium of exchange for goods and services, facilitating fast and low-cost transactions compared to traditional financial systems.
Education and Community Building: The Energi ecosystem promotes educational initiatives and community engagement to foster a better understanding of blockchain technology and its benefits.
Overall, Energi is designed to create a versatile blockchain platform that promotes community involvement, supports extensive use cases like dApps and smart contracts, and encourages a sustainable ecosystem through its unique funding model.
What blockchain does Energi use? Is it its own blockchain or built on top of another?
Energi uses its own blockchain, which is designed to support its features such as decentralized governance, a treasury system, and a focus on scalability and security. Energi aims to create a fully autonomous economic system and incorporates a unique hybrid consensus model. This means it is not built on top of another blockchain but operates independently with its own infrastructure and features.
Is Energi programmable? Does it support smart contracts or decentralized applications?
Energi is a cryptocurrency and blockchain platform that indeed supports programmability. It utilizes a modified version of the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), which means it is capable of running smart contracts and decentralized applications (dApps). This allows developers to create and deploy a variety of decentralized applications on the Energi blockchain. Additionally, Energi includes features like a unique governance model and a treasury system to support its development and ecosystem growth.
How fast are Energi transactions? What is the typical confirmation time and throughput (transactions per second)?
Energi (NRG) is designed for fast and scalable blockchain transactions. The typical confirmation time for Energi transactions is around 30 seconds, although it can vary depending on network conditions and other factors.
In terms of throughput, Energi is capable of handling approximately 200 transactions per second (TPS). This throughput is facilitated by its unique design, which includes a delegated proof-of-stake (DPoS) mechanism to enhance scalability and efficiency.
Keep in mind that actual performance can fluctuate based on network activity, congestion, and other technical factors. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, always consult the official Energi resources or community updates.
How much data can I store on the Energi blockchain? Does it support on-chain data storage?
The Energi blockchain does support on-chain data storage, but it is primarily designed for cryptocurrency transactions and smart contracts rather than for significant data storage like some other blockchains.
While you can store data on the Energi blockchain through smart contracts, this is generally not meant for large volumes of data. Instead, on-chain storage is often limited to specific pieces of information needed for transaction verification, state updates, and blockchain logic. If your project requires storing large datasets, it's more efficient to utilize off-chain solutions and reference that data from the blockchain.
For precise details about data storage limits and best practices on the Energi blockchain, you would need to consult their official documentation or community resources, as these limits can evolve with updates to the network.
