About
What Is REVV?
$REVV is the web3 motorsport token that is used across Animoca’s portfolio of racing games and an ever increasing set of partners from the motorsports ecosystem. Our vision is for $REVV to be synonymous with web3 motorsports and serve as the token underpinning digital vehicle culture.
To create an ecosystem around the REVV token, we are building the Motorverse. The Motorverse will bring the experience of vehicle ownership to the digital age. We will create a world where you can own, collect, and trade high fidelity digital vehicles, and drive them in many games and experiences.
The Motorverse will help leading global automotive brands to publish digital vehicles. At the same time, we are connecting vehicle owners to gaming, and social experiences at the intersection of motorsports, racing games, and web3.
In partnership with motorsport brands, championships, car manufacturers, and key industry figures around the globe, the Motorverse will become the focal point of digital vehicle culture in web3. We believe in the network effects of an open ecosystem, and welcome all partners to join us in creating new types of experiences around digital vehicles that have not been dreamt up yet.
$REVV is the token that sits at the core of this shift towards digital vehicle culture, as we are building a global community with a shared love of cars & bikes, racing games & motorsports.

What is the REVV (REVV) cryptocurrency good for? What are its main use cases?
REVV (REVV) is a cryptocurrency primarily associated with the blockchain gaming ecosystem developed by Animoca Brands. It is designed to power various gaming experiences and applications within the blockchain gaming space. Here are some of its main use cases:
In-Game Currency: REVV is used as the primary in-game currency for various blockchain-based games, allowing players to purchase in-game assets, upgrades, and other items.
Play-to-Earn Mechanics: Players can earn REVV tokens by participating in games, completing tasks, or competing against others, thereby integrating a play-to-earn model that incentivizes gameplay and skill.
NFT Transactions: REVV can be used to buy, sell, and trade non-fungible tokens (NFTs) within its gaming ecosystem. This includes in-game items, collectibles, and characters that are often tokenized as NFTs.
Staking and Governance: Holding REVV tokens may grant players certain governance rights, allowing them to vote on game-related decisions and future developments within the ecosystem. Additionally, staking mechanisms may enable players to earn rewards.
Cross-Game Compatibility: REVV is designed to be utilized across multiple games within the Animoca Brands ecosystem, promoting interoperability and enhancing user experience.
Community Engagement: The use of REVV encourages community participation and engagement, fostering a sense of ownership among players and investors.
Overall, REVV serves as a fundamental component of the broader blockchain gaming economy, facilitating interactions, transactions, and value creation in a decentralized manner.
What blockchain does REVV use? Is it its own blockchain or built on top of another?
REVV is built on the Ethereum blockchain. It is an ERC-20 token, which means it utilizes Ethereum's infrastructure and smart contracts for its functionality. REVV is primarily associated with motorsport and racing games within the blockchain ecosystem, particularly in the Animoca Brands portfolio, which includes games like F1 Delta Time.
Is REVV programmable? Does it support smart contracts or decentralized applications?
REVV is a cryptocurrency that primarily serves as the utility token for the REVV Racing ecosystem, which includes various blockchain-based games and applications related to motorsport. As part of its functionality, REVV is built on the Ethereum blockchain, which does support smart contracts and decentralized applications (dApps).
However, the REVV token itself is not inherently programmable like the Ethereum platform or other blockchains that allow developers to create their own smart contracts and dApps. Instead, REVV serves as a means of in-game currency and interacts with the underlying smart contracts of the games and ecosystem that utilize it.
If you're looking to develop or use smart contracts, you would typically do so on the Ethereum network or other compatible blockchains. The games and applications within the REVV ecosystem may have their own smart contracts built on Ethereum, but the REVV token itself does not directly provide that capability.
How fast are REVV transactions? What is the typical confirmation time and throughput (transactions per second)?
REVV is the native token of the REVV Motorsport ecosystem, which operates mainly on the Ethereum blockchain and has migrated to the Polygon network. As such, the transaction speed and throughput for REVV can vary depending on the underlying blockchain being used.
Transaction Speed: On the Polygon network, transactions are generally faster than on the Ethereum mainnet. Polygon can handle transactions in a matter of seconds because it uses a Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism.
Typical Confirmation Time: On the Polygon network, the average block time is approximately 2 seconds. Therefore, transactions can often be confirmed within a few seconds.
Throughput (Transactions per Second): Polygon can support significantly higher throughput than Ethereum, with estimates often cited around 7,000 transactions per second (TPS) under optimal conditions.
Overall, if you're using the REVV token primarily on the Polygon network, you can expect quick transaction times and high throughput compared to traditional Ethereum transactions.
How much data can I store on the REVV blockchain? Does it support on-chain data storage?
REVV blockchain, which is designed specifically for gaming and digital assets, does support some level of data storage, primarily through its association with the Ethereum network. However, it's important to note that blockchains generally do not support extensive on-chain data storage due to cost and efficiency reasons.
On-chain storage is typically limited, and most blockchain networks, including REVV, are optimized for transaction data and smart contract executions rather than large data sets. Instead, users often rely on off-chain solutions for larger files and metadata, linking them to the blockchain through hashes or references.
If you need specific details on data limits or capabilities for the REVV blockchain, it's best to consult the official documentation or community resources, as those may provide the most current and detailed specifications related to on-chain data storage.
